Accountability ROCKS 🙌🤘 Last week I called myself out in the training log for having neglected my strength & conditioning workouts since my last race and this week they were reinstated. 3 sessions complete ✔️ 1 core session & 2 full body sessions. AND today I have the pleasure of DOMS (delays onset muscle soreness ~ or, being bloody stiff the day after a workout). DOMS is funny, I often have the pain, a weird kinda sicky feeling that accompanies (not sure what that’s all about or whether it’s entirely normal 🙄😂) but I quite like it 😂
All in it was another solid week, that went a little something like this;
Monday
1.5 mile warm up and then 5 x 1km off 2 minutes, cool down. It was a bit of a brutal one this one. Short recoveries and hard paced reps.
Tuesday
A recovery run.
Wednesday
Long run workout – 2 mile warm up, 1 mile @ marathon pace, 3 mins recovery, 3 x 2 miles at half marathon pace off 3 minutes recovery, 1 mile at marathon pace, cool down – happy that I hit all the paces.

I need to make some decisions this week about my racing calendar for July so that I can start to get ready for my marathon block thereafter. It’s a shorter specific marathon block but I’m ultimately looking at this hybrid block as being the cumulative build into it.
